Who We Are
We are a small team of experts with several years of hands-on experience in research and practice who decided to join hands and address the urban challenges and issues by bridging the gap between theory and practice in planning, execution, and practices of urban development initiatives in and outside Tanzania and actively contributing in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
UPC is registered by the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender and Children as a National Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) registered under the Tanzanian Non-Governmental Organisations Act, No.24 of 2002 to operate in all the regions of Tanzania Mainland. Registration number: 00NGO/00010055

At Urban Planning for Community Change We seek to research, examine, and understand local urban realities and issues, and generate a body of scientific knowledge that will innovatively contribute to the transformation of urban development thinking, planning, and practice.
